In my previous (and first) diary entry, I proposed building up a new progressive movement more reflective on today's times than the early 1900s. Of course, advocating progress for progress's sake is a little hard to justify at times, so I just want to take this opportunity to figure out what are the problems America needs to deal with. Actually, I'm not really sure so I'm more interested in what y'all have to say.
A caveat after the flip.
Politics and well, reality, often requires us to make compromises. I'm not advocating making DLC-ish compromises here so hold the flaming, but sometimes we have to settle with giving up on smaller issues to win victories on larger core value(s).
In other words, list only your top three problems. I know the subject line is "Everything Wrong with America," but while the plight of sewer rats in Boston may be important, it's probably not worth mentioning if you're more concerned about Iraq. Also, consider who these things are problems for. Is this an issue for you? The "average" American? America as a whole? Just something to keep in mind.
