Michael Signer from
Democracy Arsenal
He almost cried there at the end. Did anyone else see the corners of his mouth turn down repeatedly? Don't know what to make of that -- except he's probably less cool and collected about this than we think. I bet he's torn up. I bet this has been a hell of a lot harder than he thought it would be and he's desperately concerned about his Presidency. As he should be.
He nearly cried during this last statement...
Our enemies are brutal, but they are no match for the United States of America, and they are no match for the men and women of the United States military.
This is an open question...I just wanted to see other people's comment...
Too me I think it shows he is way over his head...I think Bush would be an alright guy as your next door neighbor but he just doesn't have what it takes to be President. Maybe Signer is right that he is "torn up", I think it is fair to say he should be considering the current situation... But I also think deep down he understands what a mistake Iraq is and how sorry he is that he has led us here...I tend to think Bush was bullied into Iraq by Cheney and some of the other idealist Neo Con freaks that think everything they say and imagine is reality...I don't think we should defend Bush but I think it is fair to acknowledge the difficulty of being President during a failed policy...And I would also add that when you have thousands of US lives and tens of thousands of Iraqis lives dead because of your decision you deserve every ounce of despair and sorrow you feel.
