This one is going to be a quickie, but I wanted to point something out to those who have not gotten a chance to cruise over to DemBloggers (thanks again for such a wonderful service!)
Two pieces today to reference...the fusion of which really struck me:
- The Clark-O'Reilly clip, cited in a currently recommended diary (and rightly so).
- The CNN clip relating to the renewed call to take the administration to task for the faulty war rationale, and related comments from a Bush staffer.
In watching the
Clark/O'Reilly piece, one of the things that really jumped out at me was the latter's comment that he "didn't care" if there was no Iraq-Al Qaeda connection or WMDs in Iraq.
Notice how closely that mirrors the referenced Administration staffer comments that "the past is the past, the President just wants to talk about what's going on now."
I'm calling it right now...we'll be seeing more and more of this hilariously weak "argument". Of course, as Mark so deftly points out in the accompanying text, it can be rebuffed in literally an infinite number of ways. Too bad apparently CNN didn't feel it was necessary to do that...
