Pardon my french, I usually try to keep it civil. But today, after reading yet another article attacking DNC Chair Howard Dean, I ran across the expected:
New Mexico Gov Attacks Dean, Says He Does Not Speak for the Democratic Party
Now, I've been reading Kos a bit now, and know most of you are much smarter, better read and wise than this twisted old Nam Army vet. So you'll have to excuse me for saying that New Mexico, probably the most beautiful state in the union, has, perhaps, the biggest dick, suck wad, doughboy there is for their governor.
Richardson is from that 'I'm in politics as a career move' school. He is affraid to take chances, risks or do anything to offend anyone. Anyone, that is, except Dean and people who support him. Richardson says he speaks from the wisdom of his years as a party Hispanic poster boy. By extension, his being Hispanic has given him the great political wisdom lacking in the rest of us, and our party.
So much so that his New Mexico party, other than electing him, has failed to bring home the bacon at the national and state level. His time spent making sure Dean doesn't get ahead of him in the line to power has left his state Democratic Party one of the worst in the country. And that is saying something. While he has been keeping an eagle eye on Dean, he has avoided the hard work of putting together enough votes in his state to elect House Reps. And, of course, by letting himself be outflanked by the Bush crowd in 2004. How he managed to lose New Mexico, with its strong Democratic base, is one of those great wonders of our political times.
Many states have to put with fools for Govs; California, Massachusetts, Hawaii and Maryland come to mind. But those are all Republicans. Now the people of New Mexico have the same fate. Except theirs is a fellow Democrat.
My advice to Richardson is to just shut up, try and organize your state party (maybe Dean can lend you a hand, you certainly could use one) and maybe spend some time working on the major issues in your state, like:
Chronic unemployment
High youth suicide rates
High General suicide rates
Highest Drunk Driving rates
Highest Driving Fatalities in USA
Horrible school systems
(If not for the IHS) Highest Level of Uninsured adults & children
State services that would make Alabama proud'
plus many others.....
Your a big part of the problem, Gov. Howard Dean is trying to fight back, and clowns like you, clowns who have made a career of advancing their own personal agenda ahead of the party's really do need to shut up.
Finally, you can join that club of whimp Democrats (Joe Lieberman, Chair) and be proud that you, in your case literally, have done NOTHING to help your party.
It's bad enough we have to fight the likes of Bush, Delay, Rove, Frist and all of those jerks. Now we have to keep our eye on jokers like you.
