On recent diaries, I have been accused of being a troll, republican-lite, etc. due to my opinions. So I decided not to voice my opinion, but ask some questions to help clarify to me the thought process of a liberal. Serious answers only.
What is the obsession with Karl Rove? He is not an elected official, so what is the big deal if he resigns or is fired? Don't we already know this White House is one of the most corrupt ever? Remember the Iraqi War??
Why is there even talk of impeachment for George Bush? How likely will this happen with the Republicans in control? Why waste time with this? Why galvanize Republicans?
Why would anyone suggest we should reach out to American Muslims for votes? If we reach out and their is another 9/11, then what? Shouldn't American Muslims reach out to us to let us know they are against the attacks in London? etc. "Radical Islam" does not distinguish between Democrats and Republicans.
Has anyone even began to discuss how democrats will approach the issue of gay marriage in 2006 or 2008? After all it did cost the party a "few" votes in 2004. For that matter:
What about gun control?
Abortion?
Why are liberals so quick to hope a right-wing candidate like Tom Tancredo from Co. gets the 2008 Republication nomination? Are liberals that out of it to think illegal immigration is not a hot button issue? And that he could possibly win?
So there are cracks in the Republican Party, but there are gaping holes in the Democratic Party. When will someone address these? Do we ever want power again? Or will we wait until every right this party has fought for over the years be overturned by the New Supreme Court?
Will the liberals in NYC, Boston, and here in DC ever understand that there are other issues that face Americans besides the ones in the big cities?
One final question: Do liberals really believe we can have a liberal candidate for President and win, while the War on Terror persists? If you do please name that candidate, and don't name Howard Dean because he is not a liberal.
