I sent the article about Bush blowing the cover of the agents and indirectly causing the bombing of London. I just got his reply.

"And Islam is a peaceful religion, correct? The problem is that no one can call this war what it is because of political correctness. If a 10 billion plots are stopped and one gets through, there will be a story for it just like this. It's a worldwide war against the west, and there is no winning without waging the war as such. It did not start with Bush. It started with the anti-semetism (origins were a few thousand years ago) that fueled Hitler, & the the post-war reaction of the UN's brilliantly deciding to give away the Palestinians' land. Don't continue being decieved that it's the fault of anyone in this decade. 10 trillion successes will not be highlighted; 1 failure will be - your sources are just like the conservative ones - a view designed to get or keep power.
Can you not hear how shrill the squeelers all day every day? They thirst for power, not solutions."
So... since he and others are convinced this is a HOLY war what do you think would be the best way to respond? I was thinking about commenting how peaceful Christianity is (not), how MOST Muslams prefer to NOT be associated with terror (where might I find a reference on that?).
Any help would be greatly appreciated and I will post any follow-up conversations.

My reply to him:
Occupation is the key here. We are where we are not welcome. No one wants
occupiers in a country. Do you think most people would stand for another country
to occupy the US? The number of terrorist incidents has sky rocketed since the
illegal invasion. Want proof? The numbers were so bad the Bush administration
stopped publishing the report! I'll send you the links if you want details...
I also don't think this is about religion. It is about money and power. The
current administration wanted a new base in the middle east since we are falling
out of favor with Saudi Arabia. They wanted to be near the oil. Now we are in
the middle of a civil war. They are using the cover of religion (and other false
reasons) to try to legitimize this issue.
Is Bush religious? just
google
One of the best I looked at was
here.
Okay, Bush's defenders say, but even if he did go to church, it's tough for a
president to be really involved with a congregation. He is, after all, running
the free world. But, then again, he has spent almost 500 days on vacation over
the past four years. You'd think some of that time could have been devoted to
planning the next church social or sitting in on mission board meetings. Jimmy
Carter found time to teach Sunday School at a local Baptist church while he was
president.
and
here.
Supporters of Bush will no doubt argue that security concerns make it too
difficult for him to regularly attend church. This was, after all, Reagan’s
excuse in the 80s. And yet Clinton, vilified by so many as an irreligious
president, found the time to attend church without disrupting services or other
parishioners’ access to the church.
It's about money and power. I feel sad that the GOP has blinded so many good
people to follow and support thier illegal activities. Its true that problems in
the world right now are a result of many, many years of poor policy on the part
of many nations in the world. in fact, the decision to arm Osama was prob not
the smartest one the usa ever made. however, its the job of true leaders to take
whatever situation they are given and make it BETTER, not look at the world in
pieces and point to a guy 50 years ago, and say, 'hey its his fault'.if this war
and bush's policies were the correct one's, he'd be making history, not making
exuses
In Christ,
