I was driving home yesterday (CA Hwy 1, near Santa Cruz) when I encountered a rather alarming sight. It was a beat up, orange, junker of a car, replete with at least 3 "Support Our Troops" ribbons, an American flag, and a giant placard that took up almost the entire back window.
"A" BOMB
BIN LADEN
BAGHDAD
BERKELEY
There were a few questions that immediately popped into my head.
- Is this sort of speech protected?
- If so, would it be equally permissible to drive around with a gigantic sign reading "Assassinate Bush."?
- Why Baghdad? What did they do?
Okay, not a very long diary. Mainly, I'm just curious what the answer is to #1.
