How is it that the Republicans have been able to perpetuate the perception that they are the party of pragmatism?
This is the party who believed Iraq would shower an invading western military with flowers and who failed to properly plan for what would come after.
This is the party who believed a perfect facimile of American democracy could be built in Iraq before the next election cycle.
This is the party who believes in limited federal power, who's leaders have expanded the government and made unprecedented inrows into the most elemental issues of privacy and civil rights.
This is the party who believes that you can force abstinence education on raging teenage hormones, not teach them about birth control, and then seek to eliminate the right to seek an abortion when the pregnancies inevitably occur. All the while complaining about unwed mothers and single parent households.
This is the party who's answer to border control is looking the other way while a couple of hundred retirees and NRA members dole out their brand of vigilante justice.
This is the party who believes corporate crime was limited to "a few bad apples", being oblivious in the meantime to the systematic abuse of our system which takes place every day.
You get the point. How did liberals get tagged as the naive ones? You want to talk "pie in the sky"? Join the Republican party.
AND, for the funniest thing you'll see all week (myspace is good for nothing, if not a laugh)...
