Ok, so the whole spam thing got a little outta hand, over in Paul's thread, but it got me thinking. What we need is a massive opt-in real-time messaging system. I was thinking about how a recent revolution was partly fueled by text messaging and it dawned on me. We need to use
Dodgeball.
Dodgeball is a text messaging platform that is based on using your phone to check in with the dodgeball network. Dodgeball then redirects text messages to friends in your network (kinda like a friendster or myspace network) and lets them know where you are or what you are up to.
Here is what I propose:
We all register with the dodgeball network and begin reaching out building huge networks using this service.
We can each check in and provide details as to what events we are planning, etc. this can allow us to rapidly organize response teams based on location, and spread information effortlessly based on geographic location.
Again It's Dodgeball
SMS Text Messaging is the future!
(or as the Germans say, I'm gonna zumz ya!)
