I don't live in New Jersey so I certainly do not want to act like a I know a lot about this Republican candidate, Doug Forrester. I don't. But this is interesting.
Republican Doug Forrester's company, BeneCard Services Inc., has agreed to settle a lawsuit by two New Jersey municipalities that accused it of fraud, a claim the candidate for governor contends was politically motivated.
BeneCard, which manages prescription benefit plans for more than 100 New Jersey government entities, has reached deals with Hamilton Township in Mercer County and with the city of Paterson, Hersh Kozlov, BeneCard's attorney, confirmed yesterday.
The municipalities had accused BeneCard of violating the state's consumer fraud act by secretly pocketing rebates from drug companies that should have been passed along to them.

Forrester is currently running for Governor in New Jersey against Senator Jon Corzine. I realize Forrester may not have directly conducted the fraud. However, he is the majority share-holder in the company. I would think that he may have an interest in the ethics of his own company.
Clearly, this incident is representative of what the Republicans are all about. Make more money. Screw the ordinary person. As if people don't already pay enough for drugs! Then Forrester's company takes the rebates they were to receive. This cold-hearted.
It truly is the Republican way. Make money. The ends justify the means. It is the same old Machevillian scheming that tyrants have always justified to maintain control. "We gotta think about the bottom line. These old people won't know they are missing a few dollars on a rebate."
I absolutely hope people in New Jersey do not elect this money-grubbing Mr. Forrester. Jon Corzine will be a much better governor.
