Bush stated yesterday that schools should teach creationism alongside evolution. Great idea! And while we're at it, medical schools should teach that humans are filled with taffy. In history class, we could all learn about how the Egyptian pyramids were built by Jack Russell puppies.
AMERICABlog points us to an AP story on
MSNBC, detailing Bush's statements about creationism yesterday.
WASHINGTON - President Bush said Monday he believes schools should discuss "intelligent design" alongside evolution when teaching students about the creation of life.
The whole "intelligent design" debacle is an excellent example of how we are feeding our own cycle of destruction economically. "Gee, I just can't understand why America is falling behind the world in science education!" Then when our insistence on teaching religion as science ends up with more Americans losing technical jobs to offshore providers, we can all react to our lessened economic standing by moving to the right and voting for more destruction of science. Put it together with the administration's policy of destroying science in the government, and we're really investing in weakening the economy in the long term. God help us.
