Apparently feeling the pressure from Camp Casey in his backyard in Crawford, as well as falling public approval of his WOT, Bush is beginning a five day
campaign to defend the US's invasion of Iraq.
Kicking his campaign off today with his weekly radio address, Bush argued, yet again, that "the war in Iraq will keep Americans safe for generations to come." Predictably, Bush also drug out 9/11, stating, "On that day, we learned that vast oceans and friendly neighbors no longer protect us from those who wish to harm our people, and since that day, we have taken the fight to the enemy."
It all sounds nauseatingly familiar, and Bush will have to come up with some new material if he hopes to avoid sending the entire nation into a deep snooze.
Next week, Bush has scheduled speeches to the Veterans of Foreign Wars on Monday and a National Guard group on Wednesday. (Yawn.)
Bush's virtual silence this month on the attacks on his WOT has been rather amazing. I would guess that the GOP has put pressure on the WH to "Don't just stand there. Say something!!!!"
Even Red State is starting to panic when a diariest states, "If the President of the United States does not chose to defend himself, why in Heaven's name should I do it for him?"
