I opened my gmail account and was surprised to see an incoming mail from none other than Bill Clinton!!
Well, I had sent him birthday wishes on his bd a few days back, but didn't expect to hear back from him.
Actually, the e-mail message was from the Bill Clinton Foundation, I found out when I read the e-mail, the text of which I will include here.
Besides showing off a little, I am doing this to familiarize all of you (or as Bill would say, Y'all) to the work of the Clinton Foundation which is very involved in the fight against AIDS in Africa, among other things.
So, without further ado, here is my very first e-mail from Bill Clinton, which is no doubt the start of a beautiful e-mail correspondence (I happen to have read that Bill doesn't do e-mail, so it will be a beautiful e-mail correspondence with his assistant):
Subject: You Made My Birthday Great!
Dear [My First Name]],
Thank you very much for your birthday message. I was amazed at the tremendous outpouring of warm wishes I received, and I appreciate your thoughtful words more than you know. Your kindness made my 59th birthday a very special one.
By working together, we have the ability to make a real difference and build a more peaceful and prosperous world for our children and grandchildren. This is what the Clinton Foundation is all about. I hope you continue to be involved as the Foundation's projects evolve in the coming year. We can accomplish great things together.
Again, thank you again for making my birthday so memorable. All the best to you.
Sincerely,
(image of Bill Clinton's signature)
