Will George W. Bush stand up and denounce this man since he was a idiot of Texas well? Sometimes I really hate being a Texan when idiots like this represent Texas. Please help me turn Texas blue and hold these fools words accountable.

Gov. Rick Perry spoke at two private events this week where a Texas minister wondered if God sent Hurricane Katrina to purify the nation of sins, including homosexuality.
The GOP leader didn't object at the gatherings in San Antonio and Houston on Thursday.
Here is who is spreading this hate.
McKissic said he listed aspects of the Crescent City: "They have devil worship. They advertise 'Sin City' tours. They celebrate Southern decadence. Girls go wild in New Orleans.
"Sometimes God does not speak through natural phenomena," McKissic said. "This may have nothing to do with God being offended by homosexuality. But possibly it does," he said.
This is why Governor Rick Perry should be held responsible for these actions. Any time anyone sees Rick Perry they should bring up what a hateful BIGOT this guy is for not standing up against this hate. If we allow others to spread hate and do nothing then we are just as bad as the ones who spread the hate. Rick Perry had a chance to stand up against it and DID NOTHING.
McKissic said Perry heard his comments at the group's luncheon in San Antonio but might have left a Houston dinner before he spoke.
Perry's office didn't confirm McKissic's recollection.
Do we really want to turn America into this?

The pastor explains that for years he has warned people that unless Christians in New Orleans took a strong stand against such things as local abortion clinics, the yearly Mardi Gras celebrations, and the annual event known as "Southern Decadence" -- an annual six-day "gay pride" event scheduled to be hosted by the city this week -- God's judgment would be felt.
"New Orleans now is abortion free. New Orleans now is Mardi Gras free. New Orleans now is free of Southern Decadence and the sodomites, the witchcraft workers, false religion -- it's free of all of those things now," Shanks says. "God simply, I believe, in His mercy purged all of that stuff out of there -- and now we're going to start over again."
The New Orleans pastor is adamant. Christians, he says, need to confront sin. "It's time for us to stand up against wickedness so that God won't have to deal with that wickedness," he says.
Believers, he says, are God's "authorized representatives on the face of the Earth" and should say they "don't want unrighteous men in office," for example. In addition, he says Christians should not hesitate to voice their opinions about such things as abortion, prayer, and homosexual marriage. "We don't want a Supreme Court that is going to say it's all right to kill little boys and girls, ... it's all right to take prayer out of schools, and it's all right to legalize sodomy, opening the door for same-sex marriage and all of that."
Let's hold these people accountable to the wing-nuts they are if they panders to HATEFUL BIGOTS then so shall they be a hateful BIGOT till they denounce these people for the hate mongers they are. Rick Perry you had a chance to stand up, but you failed to therefore you are associated with these people. May God have mercy since you apparently didn't.
Update: Is Rick Perry profitting from Katrina as well?

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry, in hurricane relief tours around the state, in news releases and on his official state Web site, has urged Texans to contribute to three groups: the Red Cross, Salvation Army and the OneStar Foundation.
The last of those is a volunteer-coordinating effort founded by Mr. Perry. His prominent promotion of his own foundation has prompted some to question whether the governor is trying to benefit politically from the outpouring of sympathy and good works in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Is he also funneling money to the fundies?
Mr. Perry created OneStar as a nonprofit charitable organization in January 2004 to coordinate faith-based initiatives and promote volunteerism. Its chief executive is Susan Weddington, who left the state Republican Party chairmanship to run the organization.
