Google now has a new blog search engine. You can search DailyKos by going to:
http://www.google.com/blogsearch
and including "blogurl:www.dailykos.com" in the search string.
Kos -- you need to get this tied directly into the search options on the site, under "Menu" should be "Google Search".
As typical with Google beta's this isn't 100% yet, for example it seems to have trouble finding posts if you include too many keywords or quote a long phrase. But I bet over the next few weeks you will see vast improvements.
if you want to have this search functionality tied in and you can get ahold of Kos, please do so (although I'd wager he will become aware of it soon enough).
cool, huh? is google going to rule the world or what!
macworld article: Google launches blog search
"Google is a strong believer in the self-publishing phenomenon represented by blogging, and we hope Blog Search will help our users to explore the blogging universe more effectively, and perhaps inspire many to join the revolution themselves," a frequently-asked-questions (FAQ) page on the new service reads.
The new service doesn't limit its searches to Google's own Blogger service, and the index is continually updated and includes blogs written in English and other languages, including French, Italian, German, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese, according to the FAQ.
Users can do basic searches entering keywords or they can do advanced searches in which they can specify certain parameters, such as searching within a specific blog or only blogs written in a particular language or authored by a specific person, according to the FAQ.
