I walked into my local café this evening after several weeks away and everyone asked about Katrina. Actually that's a whitewashed way of putting it -- they raged about the obvious lack of caring for the blacks and poor. The cover of this week's
Economist is something like "The Shaming of America." If things were already bad enough post-Iraq. Now there is universal disdain for the US, or at least its "leadership."
Then Bush (with faithful lapdog Bliar) get up in the UN and make predictable speeches about the War on Terra (TM). Remember Chomsky (loose paraphrase): The best way to defeat terrorists is to stop acting like one.
Bush and Bolton and Condi "Imelda" Rice looking bored at the UN doesn't really impress.
