It's fairly evident that, with the immense influx of reconstruction moneys to New Orleans, there is a huge opportunity for corruption and cronyism on both side of the aisle. There ought to be some oversight of where the funds go and how they are used...
...sounds like a job for the blogosphere. (Unless you know a group already that's doing so--and is not the GAO.) There's one effort being put forth by Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH), but who knows if it will work.
Seriously, if you are interested or know someone who is, let's start systematically recording and organizing data about where the money is going, who's responsible for it, etc. With three to six people, we could keep on top of the news and compile this together, perhaps under a dKosopedia entry like "New Orleans Reconstruction Funds."
