Here are some snippets from Powerline Blog. I go there about twice a month just to see how thick some people can be:
------------
*The key point I see on the National Guard issue is that they are a fighting force, not a disaster recovery force.
*Even at the federal level, I've not seen any informed criticism of FEMA or any other relevant federal agency, or any detailed analysis of the formidable logistical problems that make the relief effort painfully difficult. No, the critics aren't interested in such targets or such details. What they want is to bash President Bush, and we'll hear more and more of it as the days go by.
*OK, but what exactly did FEMA and DHS do wrong that they should have done better? So far, I haven't heard any meaningful explanation of what the criticisms are.
*By the way, I've seen a lot of criticism of Bush (from the left and right) that he hasn't played the perception game very well. I find all the hand wringing by the talking heads and news readers almost obscene.
*Geez, NOW Liberals like the National Guard!---I thought they were a bunch of weenies who didn't go to war, like W.
