Hurricane Katrina is not only a national tragedy, it is also a teachable moment on the devastating human consequences of the radical right's anti-government agenda.
So Working Assets is bringing the message home:
Conceived by the DailyKos community and designed by Kossack highacidity, the image above will be displayed on a mobile billboard outside of Grover Norquist's "Wednesday meeting" on WEDNESDAY MORNING (just hours from now). As many Kossacks know, the Wednesday meeting is a weekly DC confab for the conservative elite to drive the conservative agenda.
If you live or work in the DC area, please support the cause by showing up on WEDNESDAY MORNING, Sept 21st @ 8:45am (sharp!) at L & 20th St., when the League of Independent Voters and Working Assets park a truck-based mobile billboard outside the office of Grover Norquist's Americans for Tax Reform.
[Update] Looks like Lincoln Property Management --- Norquist's landlord --- is getting a little concerned about this action due to Kossacks spreading the word!
Check out LPM's building security notice on the flip side...
The following message is from the Lincoln Property Management regarding tomorrow morning's protest:
It has been brought to our attention that a planned protest will take place on the corner of 19th & L Street, tomorrow morning at 8:45 a, m. We were not given specific details on the size of the protest, however we are taking proactive measures to secure the property and the safety of the tenants.
To prepare for security concerns for the occupants of 1920 L Street, We are asking for your cooperation with the following building announcement. For the duration of the protest, the building will be "locked-down" as if it were after hours. All tenants will be required to use their access cards to enter the building, and access their floors. Furthermore, tenants will be required to escort all guests up to their suites.
For security reasons we are instructing the guard to not allow anyone access to the building. We will allow al couriers/delivery personnel with proper identification access to the floors. However, if they do not have proper identification we will instruct guard to call each tenant alerting them of their delivery in the lobby.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience during this time. Please note that we are taking these measures to ensure the safety of all tenants and building property. We will be monitoring the situation closely, and upon completion of the protest these building restrictions will be lifted immediately. Should you have any concerns regarding this building announcement, please do not hesitate to contact the management office at 202/289-0950.
Call the number --- 202-289-0950 --- and let them know your "concerns"!
Leaflets & placards with these and other slogans will be available:

"Small Government? Big Disaster!"
