Dear Senator Feinstein,
I write to urge you to oppose the nomination of Judge Roberts, following the inspiring speech of Senator Reid, and following Senator Schumer's candid comments to Judge Roberts during the hearings.
Judge Roberts simply has not been forthcoming with answers, and the criterion for supporting a nomination to the US Supreme Court needs to convincing evidence that the nominee is a great person for the job, not an absence of evidence that the nominee will do harm. The rule that "silence must mean the nominee is acceptable" is particularly unacceptable given the Bush administration's record of ignoring evidence and analyses in setting policy.
Sincerely,
Noel Gurwick
