Hunkered down in DFW now and you would not BELIEVE the congestion, cars on the roadside out of gas and accidents every where. Last night there were some stations already out of gas and I am confident by tomorrow AM there will be none to be found anywhere.
To borrow a phrase from
Charles, we know the anti-reconstructionist 11 aren't going to be down here handing out FEMA debit cards so I am wondering what they are going to do. Aside from all the folks we have helped relocate from LA, now Houstonians are arriving to packed shelters and hotels with no gas and no way to go any where. Where are they going to sleep during the storm?
I went to get extra supplies yesterday and the shelves are bare of all non-perishable goods already...those that have waited so late will likely be fighting over the last can of Easy Cheez by tomorrow...I think its gonna get ugly up here. I am talking back road country ugly...just ask Matt about those Smirnoff Ice drinkers...:)
Our street floods when there is just 4-6 inches of rain due to overdevelopment and poor drainage plans, where are we gonna put 20 inches? Last Spring, the worst storm we had with NO tornados took off part of our roof...I am thinking that 35-75 mph winds AND likely tornados are not good...
I hope our job after we ride out the storm is to boot those 11 bastards out of office. They don't have a clue what's about to happen to their constituents while they wait out the storms in DC watching FOX news.
Thank goodness I already got my can of Easy Cheez...
Catch you on the flip side of Rita!
Ciao...:)
