One of the blogging greats,
Soj, has announced she has quit blogging. The reason seems personal and beyond our control, so there is probably not much we can do to change her mind.
In terms of breadth of international news coverage, there really was no one like Soj. Her "Presidential Daily Briefs," written in
several languages (!!!), were extraordinarily comprehensive in their treatment of global issues of war and peace -- from Europe, to Asia, to Africa, to the Americas, and round and round again.
She'll be missed. Fortunately, her last paragraph provides some grounds for optimism:
I will still write, and still do things, and still throw up an occasional Diary elsewhere in the blogosphere, but this is over folks. And it's about damn near killing me, it really is. But that's how life goes sometimes. I'll still be lurking around here and there, and who knows, I've got a few other projects I've wanted to work on. The world hasn't seen the last of me, that's for sure.
I sure hope it hasn't.
