For the last few days, words have mostly failed me. I spend the day mostly angry and sad and feeling fairly powerless. I have given as much money to the Red Cross as I can. I have read as much about what is going on as I can. I have tried to communicate what is going on to anyone in earshot who will listen. But mostly, I just feel powerless to do anything of real import.
I imagine many, many people feel the same way I do. Most of us, much as we like to think we do, don't really have any real individual power to make an impact in a manner that could really bring an end to this administration.
But there is a group of people who certainly do. That group of people, before August 29, have unquestionably heard lots of information from Patrick Fitzgerald about things this administration has done that are vile. That group probably is still in the process of trying to decide whom to indict and for what. Many of the members of that group, based on fairly reliable media reports, are African-American women.
Imagine what that group must be thinking now about this administration. If you are Patrick Fitzgerald, and you are as outraged by the last week as, for example, I am, whose indictment wouldn't you seek? Wouldn't you ask the grand jury to just indict them all?
I sure hope so.
