Like many of you, I spent the first four years of the bush residency in a state of horror, shock, despair, and abject anger. The vitriole that spewed forth from me cost me jobs, friends, invites to family gatherings. I stood strong -- and very much alone save for the solace and understanding that I have received from my fellow online patriots. I thank every last one of you for that solace.
The purpose of this diary is to make one last call for this country to take to the streets, with the key variable being that we won't retreat until the Bushistas are out tarred and feathered.
9/11 changed everything. No truer words have been spoken. I think America is getting a glimpse of the fact that it wasn't Osama bin Laden who changed everything. It was the greed-monsters who opportunized on 9/11 that changed this country - for the worst.
Tax Cuts Kill! (Slogan compliments of Steve Gilliard, whose most recent rant is a MUST READ:

I can remember writing daily rants and essays urging, begging us all to take to the streets and NOT LEAVE until the Bushistas were run out of town - not by us, but by the very Americans who put him into office! They must atone for their ignorance and greed. I don't blame George Bush for anything. I blame the America who asked for George Bush. I do. He is merely a manifestation of a horribly diseased society.
There is a lot of talk on these boards about how the Bushistas will possibly turn the death and misery-filled NOLA policy disaster into a silk purse. Hard to imagine, but if a good portion of America don't know we are at war in Afghanistan and think the "peace-keeping" in Iraq is going swimmingly....I gamble on the bushista spin machine to turn NOLA into popularity points.
The ONLY way to effect change (impeachment, prison terms) is for our countrymen to take to the streets. Let's commemorate 9/11 as it should be commemorated with resolve to:
1. NEVER let our country be raped and pillaged;
2. NEVER yield our civil liberties under any circumstance;
3. NEVER allow the republican hate mongering machine to change the dialogue or focus;
4. NEVER lose sight of our commitment to the common good (taxes make us GREAT);
5. NEVER expend a drop of American blood for oil, other resources, folly.
6. NEVER give another nation on this globe a reason to hate us.
Oh hell, the list could go on for days. We know the crimes against humanity that Bush has unleashed on us and the world. We talk about it every day. We must stop them. We must do it now. America is ready.
In the most perfectly timed move since 2000, Cindy Sheehan got America's attention. The handling of the NOLA disaster got America's hearts and tear ducts open. We must seize this opportunity.
Next Sunday, September 11, 2005 ... we must take to the streets. Brothers and Sisters, it is time. If the internet has any positive purpose whatsoever, we will make this happen. We are ARMED through connectivity. It is our only defense and offense. Can we do it? Will you join me?
If you are game, please recommend this diary.
