A few days ago I heard that Massachusetts will be housing 2000 evacuees at Otis Air Force Base, and was looking for how to volunteer. A number of you also expressed interest and asked me to post when I'd learned more information.
Today's Boston Globe lists some numbers to call.
Volunteers who want to help evacuees housed at Otis Air National Guard Base must be able to drive to the base and stay for at least five days. For more information, call the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency at 1-800-293-4031. People who want to donate clothing should also use that number.
Companies seeking to donate items such as radios, used televisions, books, and toiletries should call 508-820-2000.
