Rasmussen has a new poll out:
" Fed Response to Katrina Gets Thumbs Down". Basic numbers:
How is Bush doing in responding to Katrina?
Good or excellent: 28%
Fair: 25%
Poor: 45%
60% of the country thinks he's doing a lousy job. And even Republicans are having trouble; see below.
The full report is for subscribers only, but
Blogcities has some of the details:
Even among Republicans, there are significant doubts about the federal response to Katrina. Just 47% of those in President Bush's party say the federal response has been good or excellent. Fifty-one percent say fair or poor. [Emphasis added]
If memory serves, this is the first time Bush has gotten a majority negative rating from the party faithful.
So far as I can find out, this is the first post-Katrina poll on Bush. I also don't see what the poll sample was or the margin of error. However, Rasmussen concludes its summary of the poll results with this reminder:
Rasmussen Reports was the nation's most accurate polling firm during the Presidential election and the only one to project both Bush and Kerry's vote total within half a percentage point of the actual outcome.
It could be a fluke, or it could be the start of finally, at long last, for the first time in his life, holding Bush responsible for his actions.
