From my Webster's Deluxe:
gen-o-cide (dzenesaid) n. The deliberate extermination of a race of people, such as the Nazis attempted sgainst the Jews (fr. Gk fenos, race + L. caedere, to kill)
To use Today's Word, say it slowly at first, and repeat a few times. Now, practice saying Today's Word in front of your mirror. You will need to practice a few extra times if you are 'over-priviledged'. Next, say "GENOCIDE" to someone you know. During the course of the day, you will need to say this word to at least 20 people. E-mails count as 1/2 of face to face statements, i.e., if you e-mail the word "GENOCIDE" to 20 people, you need to get out more.
Why is "GENOCIDE" the Word of the Day? Not because Hitler gassed the Jews. Not because Saddam gassed the Kurds. It's because the Bush Administration and cooperating American law enforcement deliberately herded Black Americans to abusive detention, death and 'disappearance'. Those Blacks who refused to 'herd' were left to die in their nursing home beds, drown or starve in attics, or be shot in the streets of New Orleans.
By the way, it's still 'GENOCIDE' if there are no pictures.
Furthermore, no American Leader of International Standing shall use the Word of the Day to refer to the actions of Other Nations. Some other Word shall be substituted or 'Spun'.
Remember to practice!
