"America Supports You" is the sponsor of this weekend's pro-Iraq War march that just coincidentally falls on the anniversary of 9/11, a date unrelated to Iraq in any way.
The group's site allows people to post messages of support to our troops, so I've tried twice now to post. Neither has been included in the thousands of supportive messages.
On the site, click "Show Your Support" on the menu bar. This lets you send the troops a message of support, or read messages that have been sent. I have posted twice now that we should support our armed forces in the most meaningful possible way - by removing them from harm's way in Iraq. However, this organization has slipped in some ground rules to make sure that there are no statements that could be deemed anti-war in any way:
NOTE: We are providing this service as an opportunity to send a message of support to servicemembers. This is not a forum for political opinions, and verbal attacks against organizations, groups or individuals will not be posted. Profanity and violations of operational security, privacy, and propriety will not be posted. These messages are viewed individually and edited or deleted based on content.
I have just posted the following. Search as you might for my statement (you can keyword Bay Shore, NY to look for it), you'll never see it because it's going to be censored. Like tomorrow's march, remember that freedom isn't free...dom.
We should support our brave armed forces in the most meaningful possible way. Remove them from harm's way in Iraq NOW - and impeach President Bush for starting a war illegally based on known false statements. The most American thing we can do is save the lives of Americans stationed in Iraq right now.
Peace.
