Keith Olbermann is a rare bright spot in the traditional media, a member of that endangered species of journalists who is not afraid to speak the truth. His willingness, no, his delight, in holding the Bush administration's collective feet to the fire have made him much beloved around these parts.
So how do we show our support for him in a meaningful way?
The answer on the flip.
By supporting, or at least thanking, the advertisers whose commercials pay to bring us our daily fix of Countdown w/K.O.
I made a partial list (some were local businesses, and probably unique to my local cable company) of the advertisers on last night's program:
http://www.purina.com - Friskies Cat Food and Beneful Dog Food
http://www.sprint.com
http://www.edwardjones.com
http://www.pella.com - Pella Windows
http://www.tvg.com
http://www.crestor.com - Astra-Zeneca Pharmaceuticals
http://www.honda.com
http://geico.com
http://ameritrade.com
http://www.covergirl.com
http://www.verizonbusiness.com
http://www.centrum.com - Wyeth, Centrum Vitamins
http://www.doubletree.hilton.com - Doubletree Hotels
http://www.bayercarediabetes.com - Ascencia Glucometers
Even if you have no use for any of their products, please write to these companies and let them know you appreciate their support for the nation's best newsman.
My cat is just gonna have to learn to like Friskies!
UPDATE: Please unrecommend this diary. I sincerely thank all who recommended and commented, on both sides of the discourse. There are other diaries that deserve some attention, including this one from Renarf that is rapidly scrolling into oblivion:
