A FOLLOW ME TO DC
DAVID HARRIS, TX 06
There are 24.7 million Veterans living in the United States. Nearly 23 percent of homeless adults are Veterans and many more Veterans who live in poverty are at risk for becoming homeless. While the war continues in Iraq, many more families are left behind without the help they need when soldiers are deployed or killed in the line of duty. As part of our continued effort to further Veterans causes, we will be highlighting a new Veterans charity in this spot every month every thirty days for the next year.
The third charity we are highlighting is Angel Flight for Veterans
who work to provide long distance transportation for Veterans in need of Medical care. Angel Flight for Veterans is a nonprofit organization that works to ensure that no financially-needy veteran / active duty military person or their family member(s) is denied access to distant specialized medical evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, or rehabilitation for lack of a means of long-distance medical air transportation.
Patients needing help call the National Patient Travel HELPLINE at 1-800-296-1217
We encourage donations to this charity via their site or by mail to:
