I listened to Al Gores speech the other day, and I was quite impressed. He put forth a great speech on the crimes of the Bush administration. He called for a special counsel on the NSA wiretaps, and basically said that Bush is totally responsible for the quagmire in Iraq.
While the speech was great, we need more of it. Gore comes out and breathes fire into his speeches, but he does 1 speech about every year, then he goes back into hiding until the next time he graces us.
The Democrats need someone who can make speeches like Gore did, but do it just about everyday. The American people need to be reminded that this war is unjust, and that brave men and women are dying for no good reason.
But who in the Democratic party is ready to step up to the plate and deliever. Hillary Clinton? Ha, don't make me laugh. Bill Clinton? Nah, he's too busy with Poppa Bush, and his own projects, Joe Biden? I don't trust him. Ted Kennedy? Nah, the Bushies would carve him up and spit him out. Russ Feingold? Nah, too dull and uninspiring. Jack Murtha? He started too, but he didn't gain any traction. Cindy Sheehan?, Nah, she's a sympathtic figure, but not someone to rally around.
The Democrats need a towering figure, who has the passion to spit in the face of the Bushie slime machine. He must get down in the mud, and be willing to put up with all the lies, and slime that are sure to be thrown his way.
He/She must rally the anti-war sentiments that are growing daily, and must tap into the silent majority who need a reason to oppose this flithy, ugly war. Most people oppose the war, but aren't willing to say so openly.
Who in the Democratic party will stand up and do what needs to be done? Any suggestions???
