I've actually felt good the last few days, because I feel like a shift is taking place. It feels to me that Democrats are finally starting to find a voice again, and I think a new Leadership is in the making.
Pelosi feels nervous as evidenced by her speech the other day in SF. Her responses to the wire tapping issues seemed uncomfortable because the Bushies made her complicit and she knows it.
Reid, however, is finding his voice. He's starting to take the fight to the Republicans and framing the debate.
Gore has thrown a major wrench into the Republican noise machine, and the debate has been reframed to our terms.
The House Dems hopefully will follow suit and start nailing Republicans across the board. If not, we need to find more Paul Hackett's to actually win House races.
Feingold continues to steadily build a case for a leftward shift in the party direction.(and calls the Republican BS at every turn)
Alito may be a lost cause after the sorry display by the old guard last week, but that can be repaired by winning elections consistently.
It just seems to me that there's a different vibe out there. The DLC, triangulating, mantra no longer works. We've been outcentered by the Republicans, and they have now dragged us back over to the right as a nation. I feel the pendulum swinging back, and I think we may now have the players in place to make a difference.
Tell me what we need to be hammering on.
My suggestions are as follows.
Phase II completion
Wiretapping
Corruption
Body Armor
Anything else?
