Funny thing about these messages, they always seem to be opportune. Once the GOP runs into serious trouble, a well timed "message" brings us back to 9/11 and the war of terror. The GOP needs Bin Laden more than the Republican base to hold onto power, just look at the numbers; the only area where the GOP holds an advantage is security/terrorism by 18 points. This is their only consistent advantage!
So, should we be surprised that Bin Laden is shrilling for the GOP? He is joined at the hip with Bush, he has a stake in our domestic politics. Our disastrous foreign policy is what drives his base, and the GOP's fear mongering drives their advantage. I would not even be surprised to find out this message is a fake. Not that the administration would produce such a "message", after all they pointed out the fact that the "Niger Documents" were forgeries, didn't they?
CIA says tape is six months old. Can't they just release his greatest hits instead of these singles?
