Hmmmm. I just went to the Washingtonpost.com site to read the rest of today's chat w/ Jim Brady, the online editor who made the decision to pull comments on the paper's obfuscatin' Ombudsman Deborah Howell, and....it wasn't there!
I had been reading about the first half of it during lunch, then had a couple meetings. When I got back....it was gone!
The chat was pretty much worthless, anyway. Brady refused to talk about the work of Ms. Howell itself, the only thing he would address was his decision to pull the blog comments. He said the same sort of thing over and over: "People were profane, we didn't have the (wo)man power to keep deleting the nasty posts, etc." He said the paper was considering taking the best comments and putting them in the paper, but I doubt it.
