I don't know about you all, but the Daily Show has become less and less entertaining over the last few weeks.
Sure, it's still got its high points.
But I'm getting tired of Stewart (who I once thought was supposed to be "liberal") having conservative guests on and going fairly easy on them.
I'm also sick of the attacks on Reid and Pelosi. Watch the Daily Show and you get the idea that Democratic leaders are stupid buffoons who don't communicate well. Watch actual footage from C-SPAN or CNN that hasn't been ripped out context and you get a different idea.
In my view Stewart has been going out of his way to ridicule Democrats when he doesn't need to. The Daily Show still spends most of the time lampooning Republicans. But then again, they're the ones in power. If we retake Congress and the Presidency, what will the Daily Show be like then?
Stewart has even made fun of Howard Dean, and Dean's been on the show - multiple times.
Also, I hate the stupid check in that Stewart has been doing with Stephen Colbert at the end of every show. It's old, it's tired, it's pointless. Colbert typically makes fun of Stewart or starts screeching and speaking nonsensically.
Most of Stewart's guests aren't interesting, either. I've been turning off the show after the first and second segments. Jon's really just an independent at heart, I think, who really doesn't like Bush.
At its core the Daily Show is about humor. But if I'm not laughing, then it's not really entertaining.
Right now, I'd much prefer Al Franken to Jon Stewart.
