Corruption and influence peddling are going to be the big issue this November at the polls and it is important that we, as Democrats, protect our moral high ground. Governor Ed Rendell has painted himself into a horrible corner by taking over a hundred thousand dollars from a developer who is now the lead candidate for a slots license in Pittsburgh. A Dem can't win PA without Allegheny County and Lynn Swann has a far better rep in Pittsburgh than Rendell, who has been a flop. I've emailed his campaign, begging that they insulate themselves from this issue before the voltage gets cranked up.
To Whom It May Concern,
I am one of those crazies who give nonstop and peddle
petitions and knock on doors to GOTV but I won't be
helping Gov. Rendell's petition, and may well abstain
from voting for the Gov. in Nov.. The Governors
endorsement of Justice Alito dd not help my opinion of
Mr. Rendell but that is not a deal breaker for me.
The dealbreaker is that in an election cycle sure to
be dominated by talk of corruption and influence
peddling your candidate, OUR CANDIDATE, is intractibly
compromised by his financial obligation to Forrest
City. Gov. Rendell should immediately establish an
independant board consisting of Allegheny county
residents to award our one slots license. Rendell
will not win Pennsylvania without Allegheny county and
he won't win the county if die hards like me are
waivering in support. Most folks out here on the
western frontier of the state don't know much about
Lynn Swann's politics but we do remember his genuine
smile and his heroic catches. So far we know Rendell
as the guy who sold us on slots and then pulled the
rug out from the Penguins in favor of a six figure
campaign contrubution. Listen to me, I'm on your
side, imagine how your enemies will spin this.
The campaign states that they don't have a phone # up yet but you can email them at: info@ rendellforgovernor.com
