MSNBC has been pushing this story all day, starting with Norah O'Donell this morning. Apparently the "culture of corruption" and cesspool of scandal plaguing Capitol Hill is a bipartisan issue. MSNBC even has a handy scorecard so you can keep track. Check it out below:
Apparently, the Republicans have these 3 scandals to worry about:
1. Mark Foley/Page scandal
2. Bob Ney/Abramoff
3. Duke Cunningham
And the Dems have 3 scandals too (how convenient!)
1. Reid Land deal
2. William Jefferson
3. Dems took money from Abramoff clients (Indian tribes) too
Then they bring on a repug strategist and a dem strategist to argue about it. Invariably everyone comes to the conclusion that corruption in congress is a bipartisan issue and we ALL have to hold our representatives accountable.
Now, I don't know what it takes to become a dem strategist, but I would venture to guess that just about anybody who frequents this site could do a better job than the clowns they've thrown up there today. First of all the Reid matter, will soon be exposed as a baseless partisan attempt to generate phony MSM stories like this about the "culture of corruption" being a bi-partisan issue. Reid welcomes the investigation. We gotta give them Jefferson. The Abramoff "bi-partisan" issue particularly irks me, because this is purely a republican issue and the repugs have been doing all they can to try to drag the dems into it and make it a "bi-partisan" issue. And the MSM for whatever reason falls all over themselves to play along and give the repugs some cover. The repug argument is that some dems took money from Indian tribes that were Abramoff clients. Well there is absolutely nothing wrong or illegal or even improper in doing that. Here's what they're trying to sell. Imagine a group of Republicans rob the ACME bank. Later we find out that some democrats keep their money in ACME bank. Well the repugs (and the complicit MSM) want you to believe the dems are just as guilty, since they're associated with this bank as well. It's unbelievable. At this stage of the game I probably shouldn't let every little repug/msm bamboozlement piss me off so much, but for some reason this does. And we need some "strategists" who can really call this bullshit out for what it is. So whoever is in charge of the "democratic strategist" grooming committee, make sure your people read this site every once in a while so they can defend the Democrats against this kind of ridiculous bullshit instead of playing along with the Repug/MSM game.
