The US Census Bureau has reported that married households have dropped to 49.8% making married couples the minority of households in the United States.
The report, released in August, has just recently come to light, largely due to the annual news media vacation, which also occurs in August.
According to the report, 55.8 million households or 50.2% are either headed by single women (14 million), single men (5 million), or are "nonfamily households" (36.7 million). Population experts say that "nonfamily households" consist of heterosexual couples cohabiting out of wedlock and homosexual couples, which illustrates their narrow definition of "family".
The report brings to light, yet another failing of the Bush Administration.
Since 2001, through targeted tax cuts, special legislation, and "faith based initiatives", the Bush Administration has sought to shore up the institution of marriage in the United States, but to no avail.
It seems that no one gives two shits about getting married...except homosexuals.
Experts agree that had "gay marriage" been universally accepted, marriage would not be in "crisis" but having a fabulous time enjoying all the spoils that marriage entails. When President Bush was asked about this irony of his position he offered a blank look and then pooped himself.
Poop or no poop, marriage seems to be down for the count, and the vast left wing conspiracy to destroy all the age old social institutions seems to be working. It causes this reporter to wonder what institution will be the next to fall...double coupons? I shiver at the prospect.
