After watching the 60 minutes interview with Bob Woodward I became intrigued with his new book. He's been such a chump the last several years, but it sounds like his new one might be very interesting. I considered purchasing the book, but then I thought, "hey, there's been a slew of books about Iraq that have come out this year, am I sure I want to buy this one?"
So I've decided I want to read one or two books about Iraq and current events. I'm not really interested in a political diatribe. I get those here, and I love them. I just want to read something that will add to my knowledge and perspective of what's been going on. It absolutely must be 100% "reality-based."
I did some pecking around on Amazon and I see 8 books that all seem like they would fall into this catagory. (Although I imagine Rich's book is more opinion than fact.) So my hope is there are some Kossacks who have read several of these books and who can tell me which one or two stand out as exemplary. And, if there's a particularly good book that's not included in my poll, let me know in the comments!
This will help me choose my next read, and hopefully be of some value to other Kossacks as well.
Thanks for your input!
ps. All of these are about the war in Iraq, with one exception: Dean's Conservatives w/o Conscience. I include it because it also piqued my curiosity.
