A former staff person in LA Rep. Rodney Alexander's office, where the Foley's "page" complained about the emails, has sued the office for sexual harsassment, according to Roll Call, via
Americablog:
Elizabeth Scott, Alexander's former scheduler, claims that Royal Alexander, the Congressman's chief of staff, "engaged in a course of misconduct" that included "inappropriate sex-based comments, ogling and touching" and "sexual advances," according to Michael Hoare, Scott's attorney. Scott told the Congressman of his aide's alleged improper behavior but the Louisiana Republican took no action to correct the situation, Hoare said....
Could Scott have have any connection with the emails?
See below ...
Apparently Scott started in the office in the fall of 2005, when the page brought the emails to the attention of Alexander's then scheduler, Danielle Savoy. Scott, who apparently took over Savoy's scheduler position when Savoy left to become a law clerk for
U.S. District Court Judge in N'awlins, raised her harassment complaint in May, 2006, and quit the office in June, 2006.
Scott said she was demoted from her position as scheduler to staff assistant by Royal Alexander in May 2006 when "she complained of possible sex discrimination" by him. She met with the Congressman shortly after that and informed him about the alleged improper behavior by his chief of staff, according to Hoare. Rodney and Royal Alexander are not related.
The copies of Foley's emails that eventually found their way to CREW in July, have a fax line at the top showing that they had originally been faxed from somewhere on May 29, 2006. Interesting coincidence, isn't it.
