All the talk about an Iraqi "Tet" is nothing but bull. Yes, the insurgents are ramping up operations, as they always do during Ramadan, but so are the Americans.

What many don't realize about the
Tet Offensivein 1968 is that the effect was American made. The Viet Cong was decimated and the NVA was forced to change tactics. The reason why Tet made such an impact on American public opinion was because it showed the lies behind the Johnson Administration's proclamations that they where winning the war. The ability of the enemy to launch a country wide offensive showed the American public that Vietnam was not the war they thought it was.
For the Bush Administration and the American public, the moment of truth came wrapped in 100 mph winds and polluted flood waters. Katrina was Bush's Tet. It showed that everybody that the Daddy Party could not, would not, protect you. It showed the truth about who the people in the Administration really where. It showed the man behind the curtain; stark naked, afraid and alone.
Since then things have changed. The media is now allowing some truth to come through. We now get brave commentators (at least two, Olbermann and Cafferty) that highlight the lies and deceit of this Administration. But time is running out. Question is, now that you know the truth, what are you going to do about?
