In watching "Meet The Press" today, I tuned in to watch Obama expecting to hear some sort of sharp, powerful, (possibly even inspirational)
Democratic message and appeal to the public just days away from the pivotal 2006 Elections.
Instead, I heard the most non-descript, wishy-washy, muddled bunch of nothingness that I could have ever possibly imagined.
First, he used this very precious airtime
right before the election to waste it
criticizing his own Democratic Party and serving up near
GOP talking-points about Democratic Federal spending programs not working well. (How does this help us?) Then, he squandered the opportunity to capitalize on public momentum and movement teetering against Bush by blabbering about
how the President is a nice man (-?-) and a likeable guy (this is the same arrogant, one-dimensional, ruthless monster that has claimed the powers to
Torture people and has
terminated Habaeus Corpus rights, as well as Steal Elections and Bombard & Invade nations that never attacked us - killing 650,000 people). Real nice indeed!
not ..
How about
some truth please?
Then he boasted about how even though he disagreed with the appointment of John Roberts, he is proud (-?-) of the fact that he did not fillibuster the judicial appointment. Just what Message then does this send?
"I'm happy to vote for things I don't like or I really don't mind Bush's appointments after all"-?
Neither message good [ and then they wonder why people can't figure out just what do Democrats stand for? ]
As the Interview progressed, there was only more muddled, middle-of-the-road, mushy words that said nothing, made no case whatsoever against the GOP, made no strong case for Democratic policies and a golden opportunity to Frame this Election and push the public mood further against Bush, and the GOP and for the Democrats -- is just wasted away.
____________
After about 15 minutes, I was more thoroughly bored than any John Kerry talk/speech I've ever heard in my life.
In summary, wow ... what a disappointment.
Why couldn't Ned Lamont have gotten that Prime-Time, Sunday "Meet The Press" TV spot instead-?
Then we would have actually heard a case made for Democratic policies and a strong case made squarely against the insanity of Bush and the GOP and the many ways that they have stolen our liberties, stolen our money, ruined our Country, and ruined the whole World.
If Obama is the so-called guy of "the future", then we have no future, and we remain just a Dog chasing it's own tail in circles -- while the GOP seizes power by it's unabashed, unrestrained aggression, lies, and outright theft - and while Obama, and his ilk, passively sleep.
At a critical time in our history, Obama is alseep at the wheel here.
This guy is simply not the answer.
What our Party needs is More of this:
and much, much, much less of this:
Obama just doesn't get it!
