Its all in the GOTV effort...(flip)
This past Saturday I canvassed for Baron in Monroe County (the strongest Dem seed in the district). I walked for roughly 5 hours and knocked out good portions of the walking lists in 3 precincts.
A large margin in Dem-strong Monroe could mean the difference in this race. Off the top of my head: in 2004 the total vote in Monroe Co. was around 40,000 which resulted in a 7,000+ Democratic vote margin. It made a pretty good night for local Dem candidates, but Baron came up short as Sodrel rode Bush/Daniels coat-tails in the rest of the district.
In a positive year for Democrats, where Hills message is winning and Hoosiers have Bush/Daniels/Sodrel fatigue - a good turnout with good margins in our strong precincts could lock this thing up.
So we call, we walk, we talk to voters, we win.
Every campaign in the country knows where they need their turnout to happen to ride to great margins and capitalize on a stagnant GOP effort. Show up and volunteer and they'll put you to work on that goal.
Any questions? Get to work.
If you live in Southern Indiana, volunteer for Hill.
