Stacy at AZCongresswatch reports on Rick Renzi's statement that his gloves are off now that the blogosphere has outed his shady dealings to make daddy rich.
Well guess what Ricky? Our gloves are off too!
You sit there and try to make this campaign about Ellen Simon's husband while trying to keep your abuse of your office to benefit your father under wraps.
You disgust us Rick. The fact that you are a "representative" is a blatant embarassment.
A representative fights for the best interests of the people (s)he represents, and you only fight for the interests of your friends and family.
(MORE BENEATH FOLD)
Who is fighting for the mother in Flagstaff that can't recognize her own children, but might be able to with the medical advances from stem cell research?
Who is fighting for the 17 year old high school student in Window Rock that dreams of becoming a doctor but gives up on those dreams because of the prohibitive cost of higher education?
Who is fighting for the father in Sedona who is making $5.15 an hour trying to support his family?
Who is fighting for the Army Private from Prescott, who returns from the war in Iraq wounded, but does not get the benefits he needs to live?
Who is fighting for the family in St. Johns that wants to take their sick child to the doctor but do not have the health insurance to do so?
Who is fighting for them, Mr. Renzi, because it is certainly not you.
It is great that you can comfortably raise 12 children, but how could you forget about those that struggle to raise one?
We hold different values, Mr. Renzi.
We believe in an Arizona where education is the great equalizer. Where opportunities are given to all who fight to realize their dreams.
We believe in an Arizona where everything possible is done to help cure the diseases that plague our parents, our children, our siblings, and ourselves.
We believe in an Arizona where if someone works hard they can earn enough money to support their family.
We believe in an Arizona that honors our veterans, those heroes that protect this great country, the men and women who represent the greatest America has to offer. But honoring our veterans does not stop at waving the flag. It consists of giving them proper equipment in combat, of providing health care and education for them and their families. We owe them everything, Mr. Renzi, yet we do not treat our veterans with the care they deserve.
We believe that all Americans are our brothers and our sisters, yet you have tried to divide us. Your party calls those that don't agree with you unpatriotic. You say we don't support the troops. You say we support the terrorists. Let us tell you something, Mr. Renzi, we love our country. We respect and love our brothers and sisters serving in the military, they are our greatest source of pride and the greatest example of what an American can be. We love them, we miss them, and we are proud beyond words of them.
You do not represent us Mr. Renzi, and come November Ellen Simon will. She will help us build this Arizona that we dream of. She will help us lead America to become as great as we know it can be.
Because of this, Mr. Renzi, our gloves our off as well. We love this state, we love this country, far too much to allow you to harm it any further.
God bless America.
