Just got home from Connecticut.
In my mailbox was an extra large size postcard, with a return address of PO Box 12029, Arlington, VA 22219. There was also a website address of www.progressivepolicycouncil.org.
A picture of Rick Santorum on the left. It says "...Rick supports...protecting marriage as that of a union between a man and a woman." --RickSantorum.com, and in large print "Rick Santorum" in red underneath.
A picture of Bob Casey on the right. It says "I don't support gay marriage." --Philadelphia Jewish Voice, 10/9/2005, and in large print "Bob Casey, Jr." underneath.
Large print underneath both pictures, in white on a purple background, "On Gay Marriage, There's No Difference."
On the other side of the postcard:
Picture of two grooms on top of a wedding cake. Large text: "Casey and Santorum: Both Oppose Gay Marriage".
Underneath there is bold print, not as large: "Neither Bob Casey, Jr., nor Rick Santorum support gay marriage that would provide commited homosexual couples the same public sanctification of their unions as straight couples."
Larger purple letters underneath: "That's not the only place Casey and Santorum agree..."

Then, an a box in the bottom right, it says "The Progressive Policy Council is a not-for-profit organization seeking the educate the public and to advocate for progressive public policy solutions for contemporary social issues."
There is no such group, as far as I can tell, as the "Progressive Policy Council." Their website points to a 403-forbidden page.
My assumption without any other real evidence is that some wingnut group is mining lists of progressives or others sympathetic to gay and/or pro-choice causes and trying to pretend to be a progressive group in order to try and suppress turnout of Casey voters.
Do you agree? And are any of you getting similar mailings?
