My brother is a registered republican (he just likes to mess with their heads). He just had a message on his answering machine from Grant Woods who appears to be calling his "fellow republicans" to give them a message about J. D. Hayworth.
That's gotta give Harry Mitchell a great boost!
The message said something like (not a direct quote):
You may have received mail recently with a misleading claim that Harry Mitchell supports giving social security benefits to illegal immigrants. This is a lie.
Harry Mitchell is supported by myself and three members of a republican delegation.
I ask that you not fall victim to J. D. Hayworth's misleading rhetoric and vote for Harry Mitchell.
I'm stunned! It's one thing for a republican former state Attorney General to support a democrat -- and it is a complete other thing to actually call up republicans and tell them what a liar the republican candidate is!
I shouldn't be so shocked because Grant Woods has said some, er, unflattering things about J.D. in the past:
I have found him to be ridiculous most of the time he's been in Congress.
I saw him on Meet the Press about a month ago. I was embarrassed. I was embarrassed for Arizona. His rhetoric is non-stop. That's all it is -- rhetoric.
Nice to know that the republican voters are going to hear about Hayworth's lies.
