The GOP white flag goes higher:
Signaling retreat, House Republicans are scaling back television advertising in three highly contested races, officials said Tuesday, including Rep. Curt Weldon (news, bio, voting record)'s bid for an 11th term in Pennsylvania and open seats in Colorado and Ohio.
Here's where the money is going:
On the House side they are giving up on Bob Ney's old seat and looking to back up Deborah Pryce. Additionally there is new money going in to get Marilyn Musgrave in. The AP article says that Republicans are confident they can't beat Perlmutter in CO.
In the Senate they are funneling money to Virginia and Montana.
Look at that list. The GOP is pinning their hopes on Deborah Pryce, Marilyn Musgrave, George Allen, and Conrad Burns [quick aside on Burns. There's a letter coming out this week to a Montana paper that says Jack Abramoff had "implicit control over Burns"]. Now there's a track record to run on...Oh to be a GOoPer these days!
