This article from the AP on the WaPo caught my eye. It claims that due to political pressure from the Congress, U.S. Customs will stop seizing small amounts of Canadian drugs coming to US patients.
The change in orders starts Oct. 9, smack in the middle of when I think the medicare coverage gap becomes worst, and also, of course, one month before the election.
This column from today's Providence Journal addresses the donut hole issue Here's an email from an IN woman that appears in the ProJo column:
"I used to obtain my drugs from Canada until this darn Medicare drug program went into effect. Now I'm in the 'donut hole' & paying full price for all my meds. I'm on 8 of them!! This whole program is such a rip-off. What can we do????"
I wonder if this is how the GOP will deal with the political pressure until November, to go back to taking care of big Pharma interests after that...
