This will be quick. I was just listening to NPR, sort of in the background as I did my usual morning reading before diving into work.
Lanny Davis was being interviewed, pimping his new book, talking about crisis management on the Hill, how this Foley thing should have been handled, etc.
I was barely paying attention, until he said...
... that Denny Hastert's failures in the Foley case only amounted to a "misjudgement" and that he should not have to resign because of it.
So, in the warped mind of Lanny Davis, it's okay to fail to investigate whether a legislator in a key leadership position who is running in what was viewed as a safe Republican seat might be trying to solicit sex from underage pages, possibly in violation of the very law that legislator helped pass. It would have been nice to hear that statement challenged, but, alas, I know that is expecting too much these days.
Although, I guess such a sentiment is to be expected from somebody who went on Fox News and wrote for the WSJ that Joe Lieberman deserves another term.
He also reiterated something I heard him say on CNN the other day, that the Democrats shouldn't try to make political hay out of this issue.
Because, you know, calls for oversight and accountability are all about politics.
Are the Democrats using this dickhead as a consultant?
