American Red Cross endorses Federal Aid payments to churches.
According to the Washington Post "FEMA Plans to Reimburse Faith Groups for Aid As Civil Libertarians Object, Religious Organizations Weigh Whether to Apply"

The Red Cross has endorsed the idea. In view of the American Red Cross's endorsement of the GOP's effort to funnel pork to its right wing extremist supporters, this Christian (Elder, Sunday School teacher) has sent the following to the Red Cross via their website at http://www.Redcross.org.
Dear Sir or Madame:
I am writing to object to your recent politically motivated endorsement of the GOP's violation of more than 200 years of separation of church and state, that religious organizations should be available for Republican pork, I will NEVER contribute anything to the American Red Cross and will actively work to ensure that my family, church, and friends do likewise.
It was bad enough that the Red Cross misused 9-11 for ethically questionable fund raising purposes, but now your crass political pandering is beneath contempt.
I don't understand if they are doing this because they were getting grief from the GOP (Rove, Rummey, Cheney, et al) over the International Red Cross's objections to Bush's use of torture and violations of international law or if they're just craven.
Doesn't matter, there's plenty of other organizations that do the same work, so sorry Red Cross, not another dime.
